Current Work - Not Your Doll 2018/2019
In an era of #MeToo, #AskforAngela and #TimesUp, we, as a society face a harsh reality. Globally, awareness of issues around women’s equality and rights are growing. Battles are fought against domestic violence, sexual assault, cat calling, harassment – just tips of the iceberg. Whilst Ireland may have started addressing the issues, the need for the F-word is as strong as ever - Feminism.
I’m particularly inspired by photographs I take of my friends. There is strength in their individuality, confidence, vulnerabilities and independence as they combat the challenges of existing in our contemporary fluid society. I want to honour them through my dolls and spread feminism for everyone.
